Cao Dai Village Association

Cao Dai Village Association in My Loc, Nam Dinh Time: 22/7 lunar calendar Cao Dai Village Association takes place in Cao Dai village, My Thanh commune, My Loc district, Nam Dinh province (former). Every year, on the 22nd of the 7th lunar month, the Cao Dai villagers organize a jubilant and majestic festival to commemorate the taboo day of Thai Su Tran Quang Khai.  According to historical documents, in 1271, King Tran Ban granted the land (then named Cao Dai) for Tran Quang Khai to be Thai hamlet, Tran Quang Khai and Princess Phung Duong came here to organize life. Legend has it that Princess Phung Duong is the one who takes care of the organization, maintenance and development of traditional cultural activities in the hamlet. After Thai Master Tran Quang Khai and Princess Phung Duong died, the Cao Dai people opened the festival every year in the week of July to commemorate merit. In the drums, the sound of the gong echoed, the boys in the village procession of the palanquin and the village girls picked up the palanquin from the communal house to Ben Ho and Ben Ho and then returned to the communal house. During the festival, there were also other exciting activities such as catching ducks (showing the agility and cleverness of traditional hunting), wrestling, swimming, weaving and cooking competition. The cooking contest for the unmarried girls in the village, the judges are prestigious farmers, operated by an examiner.  The girls participated in the contest on barefoot, wearing black silk skirts, four -body shirt, colored towel, bibs horizontally with colored silk strips, carrying all the necessary things for the competition such as optical burden, dried bamboo, crockery jar with water, falling bamboo ... After the drum, the girls began to carry the burden on the shoulders around the competition to make rice cooking. According to the rules on the right shoulders, the kidneys are really balanced, the hands are not kept in the burden. Then take the rice, pour the water from the jar into the vo to drop the rice, if the fall will be disqualified. After that, pouring water into the pots must not drop any drops to the ground and not being eliminated. After putting the rice into the pot, the girls jumped around the burden of transferring the kitchen from the back and then blowing, blowing and lit. From the beginning until the rice is cooked, the girls can only use chopsticks all 3 times.
